After Teeth Cleaning

Proper Brushing & Flossing Technique
  • Follow the oral hygiene instructions prescribed by your dentist.
  • It's normal to experience temporary sensitivity post-cleaning which is easily managed with suitable toothpaste.
  • Maintain your oral hygiene procedures like brushing and flossing after cleaning for a healthy mouth.
After Root Canal Treatment

After Root Canal Treatment (RCT)

  • Previous conditions that cause after RCT usually subsides within 7-10 days.
  • Treated area may become slightly swollen & may cause mild discomfort.
  • Sensation on rough area may be felt.
  • Temporary filling may wear off to some degree.
  • Difficulty in opening and closing of mouth may occur.
After Extraction / Surgery / Implant

After Extraction / Surgery / Implant

  • Keep cotton pressed for 45 minutes then discard.
  • No spitting or rinsing for 24 hours.
  • Take only cold and soft diet, nothing hard or hot.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol.
  • No hot fomentation externally, no cold fomentation.
  • Start warm water rinses after 24 hours & continue.
  • Take medicines as prescribed.
  • In case of bleeding report to the dentist.
  • Do not touch the area with your finger or tongue.
  • Do not rub any paste.
  • Don't chew/ bite until the effect of anesthesia is gone.
  • Recall After One Week.
After Crown Cementation

After Crown Cementation

  • Bite on the cotton guaze and apply firm pressure for 15 mins.
  • Avoid liquids for the first one hour, do not rinse or drink water.
  • Avoid chewing from that side for the next 24 hours.
  • In case of any discomfort or tenderness in chewing, get in touch with your dentist as soon as possible.
  • Maintain adequate oral hygiene after the procedure by brushing and flossing regularly.
  • Get yourself checked biannually as a preventive measure.
After Denture Insertion

After Denture Insertion

  • Remove the denture while sleeping.
  • Dentures should always be stored in a bowl of water & never left dry; the water should be changed on a daily basis.
  • Clean the dentures with soap water and brush on a daily basis.
  • Handle the dentures critically, they're fragile.
  • At any point if there's discomfort in wearing the denture, get it to your dentist immediately and get it fixed. Do not forcibly wear it as it might cause an injury.
  • In case of any soreness or ulcer formation, discontinue wearing your denture till it is fixed and the wound has healed, apply the prescribed medicines.
  • Dentures have a minimum adaptation period of one month, give your mouth adequate time to accept your new set of teeth.
  • Problems do arise in Speech, Chewing & general wear in first months to find from denture wearer, but they're all temporary & get sorted with time.
  • Visit your dentist every six months for denture maintenance.

After Orthodontic Treatment

During the course of Orthodontic treatment the patient has to avoid eating hard and sticky food like:-
  • Pop Corn, Pizza, Chikki, Murukulu, Chips, Chewing Gum, Grilled sandwich, Dry Fruits, Biscuits / Toasts, Apple & Guava, Sticky Sweets, and Chocolates, Carbonated Drinks / Aerated Drinks.
Patient can eat regular foods like:-
  • Chapati, Soft Puri, Plain cake, Bread, Rice/Biryani/Pulao, Idli, Dosa (Curry vegetables all types of pulses), Bananas, Meat, Coconut water, fruit juice, milkshakes, Seedless fruits, Plain Chocolates.
